Frequently Asked Questions

“What sets our systems apart from other lifts and docks available on the market?”

We recognize that having a high-quality dock and lift solution is essential. While numerous companies may lead you to overspend for premium quality, we provide an affordable solution that never sacrifices quality. Our products are crafted from top-grade, corrosion-resistant aluminum hardware. This strategic design not only enhances the longevity of each system but also ensures minimal maintenance, allowing you to enjoy worry-free for years ahead.

“What is the warranty on our products?”

Lifetime Marine Fabrication offers a 6-year warranty on moving parts and a 20-year warranty on welding and aluminum.

“What delivery methods do we offer?”

There are a few ways we can get your lift and dock installed. Our equipment allows us to do an in-water delivery or a land drop-off through a yard. In the past, we have even assembled lifts on-site if needed.

“What type of ongoing maintenance and support do we offer?”

We provide maintenance packages that include cleaning, inspecting, and lubricating your lift. If you prefer to handle it independently, we offer easy-to-follow instructions to help you keep your lift in optimal condition.

“Why is a fully welded aluminum structure better than a bolted lift?”

Bolts and nuts can loosen up over time. By having a welded frame, we can guarantee your lift will stay solid and safe for decades.

“What is the best way to store my lift?”

Storing your lift out of the water, with the lift carriage all the way up is best. You want to make sure your canopy cover is dry when you fold it up and be sure to keep it dry all winter. One very important part of canopy maintenance is washing the mold off the stitching annually. This is a service we also provide.

“What is the difference between pontoon cradle bunks and log style bunks?Cradle bunks do just that. They hold the pontoons from the button. Log style bunks are beams that lift the pontoon or tritoon from under the floor. Log bunks are a more traditional product, while cradle bunks is what most new lifts come with now. Either works well and the pontoons and tritoons are made to accept either.

“Is adding a motor to your winch worth it?”

This depends on a few factors, We think number one is how often do you use the lift? If you are going to be hand cranking a lift 6 times in any given weekend you’ll probably want a motor. The power winch can be added later though so you can try using it with the hand wheel first, and upgrade later if necessary.

“What maintenance is needed so the lift remains in good working condition?”

We provide instructions with all of our lifts. In general, keeping it lubricated, clean, and free from obstructions is the best way to guarantee lift longevity.

“What type of dock is best for my shoreline?”

This depends on a few factors. One of our expert team members will ask about your shoreline, use aerial photos and possibly even perform a site visit to make sure we provide options for the best solution.

“What size boat can your products lift?”

Our lift sizes range from PWC lifts to 5000lb capacity. This covers most boats as well as pontoons and tritoons under 25ft. We will work with you to make sure the lift is sized appropriately for your application

“Can I install the lift myself?”

Yes! Some of our customers do the installation part themselves. Typically, we will assemble the lift and adjust it to the type of boat you are using it for. The only thing you’ll have to do is get it in the lake and perform final adjustments.

“How do I care for my motorized winch kit battery?”

Having one of our solar charging kits attached is the best way to keep your battery in great shape and ready for use.

“What are the benefits of a Roll in Dock?”

If you have the space in your yard to keep a roll in dock over the winter, this might be a great choice for you!  Another factor is whether the shoreline allows for easy install and removal.

“What are the benefits of a Sectional Dock?”

Depending on your yard space and dock setup, a sectional dock might be best.  One of our team members will discuss all options with you.

“Should I choose a sectional or a roll-in?”

Great question!  We will ask a few questions and use aerial photos or possibly a site visit to ensure you understand all of the options available.

“What size sections do you offer?”

Our sections range from 4ft long all the way up to 16ft.

“How much does a section weigh?”

The weight depends on configuration and length.  We do our best to keep the section designs lightweight but solid.

“Is the installation and removal easy?”

Yes!  All of our docks are meant to be installed or remove by anyone.  We do offer seasonal service, but for our DIY customers we want to be sure you aren’t dependent on a dock and lift company to get your equipment in and out every year.

“What accessories can I add to my dock?”

We have a full line of accessories available.  Our most popular are bumpers, cleats, and benches.
